
I discovered something interesting about this taken at Vestrahorn in Iceland. This shot can only be taken in Winter. In January the sun will rise in the south, directly behind you over the ocean. The first light to hit land will be on the very tops of the mountains.
In summer, the sun rises on the opposite side in the north, so the mountains will be backlit, resulting in a completely different image.
